Travelling with a medical condition?
We cover most pre-existing medical conditions – even for older travellers or those with complex health needs – so you can explore with confidence. From asthma and diabetes to heart conditions and high blood pressure, we’re here to help you travel safely.
When you get a quote, you’ll complete a short medical questionnaire so we can tailor your cover to your needs.
- Medical and repatriation protection included as standard.
- 24/7 medical emergency helpline, wherever you are in the world.
- Fast access to approved care abroad, with direct billing to hospitals where possible.
Even if you have a GHIC or EHIC, these only cover limited state healthcare and won’t pay for private treatment or getting you home – that’s where we step in.
Types of expat cruise travel insurance
Single trip cruise travel insurance
Perfect for a one-off cruise – whether it’s a week in the Mediterranean or a long voyage across the Atlantic. Includes cancellation, medical expenses, repatriation to your country of residence, lost baggage and all cruise-specific benefits. You can travel for up to 104 days in a single trip.
Annual multi-trip cruise travel insurance
Ideal for regular travellers who take multiple holidays a year. Add cruise cover to your Comprehensive annual multi-trip policy and enjoy protection every time you set sail – with no limit on the number of cruises you take in the year.

Tailor your cruise travel insurance with optional extras
Every voyage is unique – and so is your cover. Add optional extras to tailor your policy to your trip:
- Winter sports cover – includes protection for unexpected medical costs, lost or damaged ski equipment, unused passes, piste closures and avalanches. Available for single trip travellers aged 70 and under, and included as standard with Comprehensive annual policies (limited to 2 trips per year with a combined maximum of 21 days).*
- Excess waiver – removes the excess you’d normally pay if you make a claim, so you receive the full amount for each item you claim for.*
- Single item cover – increases the cover limit for any one baggage item from €450 to €1,000, ideal for high-value possessions such as jewellery, cameras or laptops.*
- 100-day upgrade – extends the maximum length of one trip from 50 days to 100 days, giving you more time away if you’re aged 70 or under.^
*Available on Comprehensive policies only.
